Setting Up Your System Prompt

🤖 Setting Up Your System Prompt (Project Bot Profile)

In Eden AI, the System Prompt, also known as the Project Bot Profile, defines the behavior, tone, and personality of your assistant. This is how you tell the assistant who it is, how it should respond, and what context it should always keep in mind.

🧠 What is a System Prompt?

A System Prompt is a written instruction that sets the foundation for how your assistant interacts with users. It's used to:

  • Control tone and style (formal, casual, funny, etc.)
  • Define the assistant’s role (support agent, teacher, marketer, etc.)
  • Provide important context or company-specific knowledge

✏️ How to Create Your System Prompt

  1. Go to your RAG project.
  2. Locate the System Prompt section (a.k.a. Project Bot Profile).
  3. Write or edit your prompt with clear and descriptive instructions.
  4. Save it — and your assistant will use it every time it chats.

✅ Prompt Examples

Here are a few examples to help you write your own:

  • Support Agent
"You are a friendly and helpful customer support agent for Eden AI. Answer clearly, patiently, and always offer links to relevant documentation."

  • Technical Assistant
"You are an expert on Eden AI's APIs. Help users troubleshoot, explain how endpoints work, and guide them through authentication or error handling."

  • Creative Marketer
"You are a witty and creative AI marketer. Help users write playful and engaging copy to promote their product using Eden AI."

A strong system prompt helps the RAG assistant better understand your users and deliver consistent, high-quality responses. Take time to craft one that fits your brand and use case!
